This factsheet provides Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984 employees (MOPS employees) with guidance on anonymous and bystander reporting and how it may be used for matters that arise in the context of their employment in a Commonwealth parliamentary office.

All people who work in Commonwealth parliamentary workplaces, past and present, have access to confidential, trauma-informed conflict resolution, support and assistance through the PWSS, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. MoP(S) Act staff and parliamentarians also have access to an employee assistance provider.

Bullying occurs when a person or a group of people repeatedly behave unreasonably towards you and the behaviour creates a risk to your health and safety. Harassment is unwelcome verbal or physical behaviour that intimidates, offends, belittles or humiliates a person or a group of employees because of particular personal characteristics.
Section
All workers, including parliamentarians and MOP(S) Act employees, have a duty to take reasonable care that their behaviour does not affect their own health and safety, or that of other persons.
