This factsheet has been designed to provide information relevent to Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984 MOPS Employees regarding workplace bullying, how to report, and the PWSS support services available to ensure safe and respecful Commonwealth Parliamentary workplace.

This factsheet is relevant to anyone employed in a Commonwealth parliamentary workplace under the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984 (MOP(S) Act). It includes information on Behaviour Standards and how to report inappropriate behaviours.

All people who work in Commonwealth parliamentary workplaces, past and present, have access to confidential, trauma-aware conflict resolution, support and assistance through the PWSS, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. MoP(S) Act staff and parliamentarians also have access to an employee assistance provider.

Anyone who currently works in or has worked in a Commonwealth parliamentary workplace can make anonymous online reports. Information you give the PWSS is treated seriously and confidentially.

Workplace Complaint Form The PWSS takes all workplace complaints seriously. The PWSS can review complaints and recommend local resolution to resolve the matter but cannot investigate.

All workers, including parliamentarians and MOP(S) Act employees, have a duty to take reasonable care that their behaviour does not affect their own health and safety, or that of other persons.

The PWSS HR team provides human resource information and advice, including in relation to onboarding staff, appropriate duties, performance, management, office restructures and ceasing employment.
