Our integrity
At the PWSS, integrity is the foundation of everything we do. We are committed to upholding the highest ethical standards in all our actions and decisions.
To be eligible for a role within the PWSS, you must meet the following criteria:
- Australian Citizenship: Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to work in the Australian Public Service (APS) unless the PWSS CEO grants an exemption in writing.
- Impartiality and Independence: you must be independent, impartial, and apolitical, and must be perceived as such. Before any offer is made, you are required to complete a Conflict of Interest and Confidentiality Declaration to declare any personal interests that may, or could appear to, give rise to a conflict with your role in the PWSS and confirm that you will maintain privacy and confidentiality.
- Security Clearance: If you are the successful candidate, you must obtain and maintain at least a Baseline security clearance before commencing employment.
- Criminal History Check: If you are the successful candidate, you will also need to pass a mandatory National Criminal History check.
Employment Conditions
Our terms and conditions of employment are governed by the Public Service (Terms and Conditions of Employment) (Parliamentary Workplace Support Service) Determination 2024 (the Determination). This Determination applies the terms and conditions of the Department of Finance Enterprise Agreement 2024-2027 (Finance EA) to all non-SES PWSS employees.
