This factsheet is relevant to staff of parliamentarians or anyone employed under the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984 (MOP(S) Act). MOP(S) Act staff are required to understand and comply with this Code and the Behaviour Standards for Commonwealth Parliamentary Workplaces.

The Behaviour Code for Australian Parliamentarians sets out expectations for how parliamentarians engage with others in the course of their work, while recognising parliamentary privilege.

It lists the process to follow, what are acceptable grounds for termination, notice period, and what evidence is required to support the grounds for termination, excluding automatic termination of employment under Section 14 of the MOP(S) Act.

The Fatigue Management policy provides a framework which aims at preventing, or minimising, risks to the health and safety of employees. It identifies workplace hazards and risks and recommends a management plan to mitigate these.
